Description

This house, occupied by Mr. W Alderton, likely dates from the 17th century or earlier. It is a single storey with attics and has a three-cell lobby-entrance plan. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, with an asbestos-sheeted roof that was once thatched. There are two gabled casement dormers, which may also be from the 17th century. The house features an axial chimney, with the shaft rebuilt in mid-20th century red brick. The windows are 19th-century casements, and there is a mid-20th century half-glazed panelled door at the lobby entrance. The interior has not been examined.
