Description
Tudor House is a house dating from the early 17th century, with the possibility of an earlier core. It has one storey and attics, featuring two windows and a two-cell main range with two rear wings from the 17th century. The house is timber-framed, with the framing exposed and plaster infill panels, standing on a plinth of red brick; the left side has 17th-century brick while the right side has 19th-century brick. The roofs are covered with plain tiles. At the rear left, there is an early 17th-century chimney made of red brick, which has twin octagonal shafts on moulded bases.
The house includes a 17th-century gabled casement dormer that has a moulded tie beam and acorn drop finials, along with 18th-century casements featuring leaded lights, where the upper lights are arcaded. A notable feature is the fine two-storey early 17th-century gabled entrance porch, which has exposed framing. The upper floor and gable tie beam of the porch are jettied, with baluster shafts on three sides and drop finials at the gable foot. Above the entrance, there is an 18th-century casement with three lights. The inner doorway may have a 17th-century battened plank door. The exterior displays widely spaced studding with arch windbracing. The interior has not been examined.
