Description

This is a barn located 20 meters west of Barton Grange, dating from the early 17th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof covered in corrugated iron. The barn consists of three bays and features a central cart entrance. The frame is largely intact, showcasing full-height studs and reverse-curved braces at the corners. The tie beam braces have been replaced with bolted-on knees. The roof structure includes one row of purlins that are clasped against diminished principal rafters, and the common rafters are widely spaced and likely re-set.
