Description
Ivy House is a former farmhouse dating from the early 17th century. It is a single storey building with attics and has a three-cell plan. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, with the parlour cell on the right featuring an oversailing gable tiebeam that has double ovolo-moulding and a pair of console brackets underneath. The roof is covered with concrete plain tiles and includes an axial chimney from the early 17th century made of red brick, which has a sawtooth shaft that was largely rebuilt in the 19th century, along with an original base that has an ovolo-moulded cornice. There are three gabled casement dormers from the 19th century, late 19th century sash windows with large panes, and mid-20th century French doors. A glazed door is located at the approximate position of the cross entry on the garden side, while the main entrance has been moved to the rear of a 19th or 20th century extension.
