Description
Street Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with remodelling from the late 19th century. It has two storeys and features four windows arranged in a three-cell cross-entry plan. The building is timber-framed but has been encased at the front in late 19th century gault brick. The roof is covered with concrete tiles, although it was originally thatched.
An axial chimney from the early 17th century is made of pink and buff brick, with the upper part rebuilt in red brick during the 19th century. There is also an external gable chimney of pink and buff brick on the left side, which has a later attached lean-to bread oven. The first storey has large-pane sash windows from the 19th century, along with two flat-roofed bay windows; one has a sash window, while the other features a 20th-century casement. The cross-entry position includes a 19th-century six-panelled door, which is sheltered by an open gabled porch supported by posts.
At the rear, there is a two-storey wing that was added in either the 17th or 18th century, and this wing, along with most of the rear elevation, is encased in early 20th-century common brick. The interior has not been examined.
