House. Late C16 with a slightly earlier core possible, altered C20. Timber frame, roughcast. Steeply pitched pantiled roof. 3 cell lobby entry plan possibly rebuilding an earlier small open hall house. 2 storeys and attic. Entrance to right of centre between hall and parlour, C20 gabled porch. C20 casements with some original diamond mullions exposed. Axial ridge stack. Gable end exposed plates and purlins. To rear of stack a segmental headed oven recess. C20 additions to right end and to rear. Interior: altered close studding, hall has a stop chamfered axial binding beam and wave moulded fireplace bressumer, parlour has a cross axial binding beam. First floor chamfered brick 4-centred arched fireplace, plastered with scoring to resemble ashlar, herringbone patterned overmantel, jowled posts with an arched brace to tie beam. Roof has lower butt purlins, upper clasped purlins with cranked collars and cranked windbraces, collars clasp single purlins in parlour bay. Partially moated site.
