Description
Stuston Lodge is an early 19th-century house built of white brick, featuring a shallow hipped slate roof and arranged in three bays over two storeys. The central entrance is accessed by a step and consists of a six-panelled door, with the upper four panels being glazed. Above the door is a traceried rectangular fanlight, and the entrance is framed by a timber Doric doorcase with three-quarter columns. The windows are 16-pane sashes, taller on the ground floor, set back with stone sills and gauged brick flat arched heads. The eaves are boxed.
On the right side of the building, there is a full-height timber canted bay window with French windows on the ground floor. The first-floor windows have glazing bars, and both floors feature panelled bases. At the rear, there are two stacks, one of which is truncated. A 20th-century rendered lean-to addition with one storey and an attic is located at the rear, accompanied by a low outbuilding that has a hipped roof. Inside, the house contains fielded panelled doors and a late 19th-century staircase. An early timber-framed range at the rear was destroyed by fire in 1974.
