Description
Hauntons Farm House is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions from the 18th century and alterations made in the 20th century. It has a timber frame that is plastered and features a steeply pitched roof covered in plain tiles, with pantiles on the rear wing. The house follows a two-cell lobby entry plan and has two storeys plus an attic. At the rear, there is a service wing that is one storey high and has an attic, consisting of three bays. The entrance is located to the left of the centre and is framed by an early 19th-century architrave with roundels in the entablature. The windows are 20th-century three-light casements, while the central area has restored diamond mullioned openings. A rebuilt central axial ridge stack is present, and the left gable end features a shaped bracket, along with exposed plates and purlins. The rear wing has an entrance on the left return and a rear gable end made of 18th-century red brick, which includes a double plinth and a plat band, along with an internal stack. The interior has not been inspected.
