Description

This barn, located 20 meters south of Bluehouse Farmhouse, dates back to around 1600. It features approximately five bays and has a gabled porch on the west side. The structure is timber-framed and covered with weatherboarding, topped with a corrugated iron roof that was previously thatched. The barn includes boarded sets of barn and stable doors, and the northern end bay was originally separated as a stable. The design showcases studwork with a middle rail and arched stud-bracing. Inside, there is a two-tier side-purlin roof, with the lower tier butted and the upper tier clasped and wind-braced.
