Description

House. Built in the late 18th century. The exterior is timber-framed and rendered, sitting on a brick plinth, with a thatched roof and brick end stacks. It originally comprised two rooms, with a pair of central winder stairs. The house is single-storey with an attic, and has a two-window facade; a two-light horizontal sliding sash window is on the far left, and a nine-pane window is on the far right. A plank door is located to the left of the facade, accompanied by a small, louvred opening, and later a 20th-century gabled porch containing a further plank door. An eyebrow dormer with a two-light casement sits above the door on the left. Various later extensions have been added to the left end and rear of the building.

Inside, thin ceiling beams and rafters are visible. The doors are plank, with a pair of winder stairs present. A small open fireplace is located on the right side and features a simple wooden mantelpiece and shelf. The timber frame is largely concealed by paper, although sole plates and the plinth are visible. In the attic, parts of the upper frame and thin rafters are exposed. The framing is of thin timber, and the original structure is partially visible.
