Description
Ladymeade is a house that was later converted into two cottages, dating from the late 16th century. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with the facade designed to resemble ashlar. The roof is pantiled, with glazed black tiles at the front. The building has two storeys and an attic, arranged in a two-cell form, although evidence suggests there was once a parlour cell that is now lost. There are two windows, which are 18th to 19th century casements. The entrance has a 19th century four-panel door, with the upper panels glazed, set within a mid-20th century enclosed porch. A gable stack is located on the left side, and there is a later external stack against the right gable. Inside, the exposed framing reveals several blocked original windows, and there are paired square-headed service doorways, one of which is blocked. A staircase at the service end includes solid triangular blocks. The roof structure remains intact, featuring clasped purlins and cranked wind-bracing.
