Description

Two cottages, Touchwood Cottage and Willow Cottage, were built in the late 18th century, likely as a single dwelling. They have a three-room plan and one storey with attics. The cottages are timber-framed and have a roughcast exterior. The roof is covered in Roman pantiles and features an axial chimney built of red brick, as well as gabled dormers with casements. Windows are C20 casements, and the entrances have boarded doors. The construction reveals primary braced studwork and on-edge floor joists, typical of late 18th century cottage building methods. A partially concealed number on a binding beam within Willow Cottage may indicate the date of construction.
