Description
Ringshall Hall is a farmhouse that was formerly a manor house, with its core dating back to the mid-16th century. The building has undergone significant remodelling, possibly in 1788. It is two storeys high and features three windows. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, resting on red brick footings, some of which are from the 16th century. The roof is hipped and covered with plain tiles, and there is a large 18th-century rear outshut that includes internal chimneys made of red brick. The windows are small pane casements, likely from the early 20th century.
The entrance doorway is adorned with carved console brackets and a cornice typical of the late 18th century, and it has a boarded door from the mid-20th century with a glazed panel. Inside, the ground floor rooms feature ogee-and-scotia moulded beams and joists, showcasing good carpentry from between 1530 and 1560, although there is evidence of significant alterations made in the late 17th or 18th century to the entire frame of the building. It is noted that the current house is said to be a kitchen range that was once part of a larger house, which was otherwise demolished in the 18th century.
