Description

Fursey Cottage is a house built in two stages during the early and late 17th century. It has a three-room lobby-entrance plan. The house is timber-framed and plastered, with a thatched roof featuring an axial chimney made of plastered red brick. Windows are small-pane casements dating to the 19th and 20th centuries. A boarded and battened door is set within a lean-to, plaintiled entrance porch added in the 20th century. The timber framing is fully exposed and unmoulded, with the lower section showing slightly later workmanship. The interior contains back-to-back lintelled open fireplaces in the hall and parlour. The roof structure is a clasped-purlin roof.
