Description

Lower Manor Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building has two storeys and a three-cell layout with a lobby entrance. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, topped with a plaintiled roof that features axial and gable chimneys made of red brick. The windows are small-pane casements from the late 20th century, and there is a boarded door at the lobby entrance. A lean-to open porch with a plaintiled roof is supported by posts. The framing is plain, showing evidence of diamond-mullioned windows, one of which survives but is blocked. The interior includes close-studding and unchamfered floor-joists, and the roof is supported by butt purlins.
