Description
Ringshall Grange is a house that was formerly a rectory, built in the mid 17th century with extensions added in the early and late 19th century. The original 17th-century section is two storeys high with attics and has a three-cell plan that used to feature a lobby entrance. It is constructed of timber framing and plaster, topped with a plain tiled roof that includes a central 17th-century chimney made of red brick. There is one early 19th-century dormer with cusped bargeboards and a spike finial, and the windows are small-pane sashes from the early to mid 19th century. The entrance door is panelled and partly glazed with small panes, framed by a fluted architrave.
The early 19th-century addition is also two storeys tall and features five windows made of red brick with a slated roof. Its windows have flat arches made of gauged brick and are fitted with small-pane sashes. There are additional later 19th-century ranges at the rear of the house. The 17th-century section displays plain framing with close studding, and the roof has butt purlins that were likely rebuilt in the 18th century. Inside, one parlour retains complete mid-18th-century joinery, including large full-height panels, a fireplace, and doors. The house is situated within a medieval moat.
