Description
Nos 13 to 25 Waterworks Street is a terrace of mid 19th century white brick houses, originally built as office and housing accommodation for the Ipswich Water Company. The buildings are two storeys high. The ground floor features channelled rustication, while the upper storey is adorned with brick pilasters that have stucco caps and bases between the windows and at the ends. The terrace has a total of 14 windows, which are double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in plain reveals, topped with stucco cornice lintels and supported by console brackets. Most of the doors are six-panel with fanlights and also have stucco lintels on console brackets. Number 25 stands out with a stucco doorcase that includes panelled reveals, pilasters, and a cornice. Number 17 includes a carriageway that provides access to the former water works located at the rear of the terrace.
