Description
9 and 11 Eagle Street is a timber-framed and plastered building, dating from the 17th century and constructed in two phases, with 19th-century external features. It has three storeys and a four-window range, featuring double-hung sashes with single vertical glazing bars in the upper sashes. The ground storey includes a small 19th-century shop front at No 9 and modern casements at No 11. Raised bands run across the front between the storeys, and the ground storey is faced in painted brick. The roofs are hipped and covered with slate, featuring a modillion eaves cornice. Inside No 11, there is a ground floor plastered ceiling with lozenges within a rectangle, and the first-floor chamber has ogee moulded plaster cornices and lamb's tongue stops to the chamfered axial beam.
