Description
Nos 31 and 33 on Fore Street is a timber-framed and plastered building that likely dates back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and later. It has two storeys, with the upper storey jettied across the entire front. There are three windows featuring double-hung sashes without glazing bars. The ground storey includes a 20th-century shop front. The southern part of the building slightly projects forward, and its roof has a steeper pitch. The roofs are tiled, with old tiles on No 31, and there is a flat-headed dormer on the southern part. Inside, the building boasts original ceilings on both the ground and upper storeys, decorated with Tudor roses and fleur-de-lys.
