Description
The Coach and Horses Hotel is a building dating from the 17th to 18th century, featuring a brick front that has been painted. It stands two storeys high with attics and has a six-window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in flush cased frames. A notable feature is the wood doorcase, which includes fluted Doric half columns, a triglyph frieze, and a pediment. At the south end, there is a carriageway. Extending east at the rear is a timber-framed and plastered wing, likely from the 17th century, which has 18th-century fenestration. The roofs are tiled and include three gabled dormers on the front. The Coach and Horses Hotel, along with Nos 37, 39, and 39A, forms a group.
