Description

No. 8 Queens Street is an early 19th century house made of grey gault brick. It has three storeys and features a two-window range with double-hung sash windows that have glazing bars, set in plain reveals. The windows are topped with stucco cornice lintels supported by console brackets. A stucco band runs along the second storey at window sill level. The ground storey boasts an attractive early 19th century shop front, which includes a central window with glazing bars and two flanking doorways—one with a six-panel door and the other is panelled and glazed. This shop front is enhanced by pilasters and a cornice fascia. The roof is covered with slate. No. 8, along with Nos. 8 to 12 (even), forms a group with the Queens Hotel.
