Description
This is an early 19th century building, originally two houses that were later converted into an office block. Wings project to the east at the north and south ends of the building. Around 1920, a parapet was added, and the front was stuccoed; it is likely that the building originally had a stuccoed front, similar to other buildings in the street. In 1965, a single-storey block was constructed between the wings, designed in a Georgian style. The building is three storeys high and has a window arrangement of 1:3:1, featuring double-hung sashes with glazing bars, most of which are original. Ground and first-floor windows in the wings are set within slightly recessed panels. A modern extension to the rear is not considered to be of special interest. The building is constructed of plastered brick and has a plain parapet. The ground floor of the central block features an entrance doorway with a semi-circular fanlight, arch, and keystone. The first storey of the central block contains a single three-light window. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, set in plain reveals.
