Description
The building formerly occupied by H Warner and Son Ltd is located on Lion Street, immediately to the west of the Corn Exchange on King Street. This timber-framed structure primarily dates from the 17th century but was refronted in the 19th century. It is two storeys high, with the upper storey jettied across the entire front. The façade features a four-window range with three-light double-hung sash windows and narrow side lights. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front. At the southern end, there is a 19th-century addition that has a quadrant corner and is constructed of painted brick. The roof is tiled. This building, along with Nos 1 and 2 (The Arcade) on Arcade Street, the Golden Lion Hotel on Cornhill, and the Corn Exchange on King Street, forms a notable group.
