Description
Nos 31, 33, and 33A on St Peter's Street are a 17th to 18th century timber-framed and plastered house that has been altered in the 19th century and later. The building has two storeys, attics, and cellars, featuring a three-window range. Two of the windows have double-hung sashes with glazing bars in flush cased frames, while one is a 19th-century oriel bay window with vertical glazing bars. The ground floor includes two small 19th-century shop fronts. The roofs are tiled, although Nos 33 and 33A have 20th-century roofs. Inside No 31, the ground storey retains remnants of a plastered ceiling decorated with fleur-de-lys. This group of buildings, which includes Nos 5 to 13 (odd), No 13A, Nos 15 to 33 (odd), No 33A, and Nos 35 to 39 (odd), is noted for its architectural significance.
