Description

A terrace of five houses at 2-10 Town Steps, Aldeburgh, dates from around 1830, with alterations in the 20th century. The houses are constructed of pebble and flint with brick dressings, and have a pantile roof with three regularly spaced ridge stacks. They are two storeys high, and each house originally had a one-window front. Each house originally featured a plank door flanked by a two-light cross casement window, with a matching two-light casement to the first floor, all with segmental arches. The original casements were multiple-paned and had an opening top light. Two houses now have a late 20th-century door and windows, while the doors to numbers 6-10 have 20th-century glazed panels inserted. A dentil eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The interior was not inspected.
