Description
Benhall Stores, formerly known as the 'Horse and Groom' public house until the mid-19th century, is now a dwelling house and shop. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century and features a timber frame with plastered panels and a coved cornice, topped with a plaintile roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a four-window range that includes two-light and three-light casements, some of which have square leaded panes. The ground floor has two shop windows with square panes, with the right-hand window featuring a moulded wood cornice and a glazed shop door in a similar style. The house entrance has a six-panel door with a rectangular fanlight above. To the right side, there is a 19th-century ground floor brick bay, along with brick and pantile extensions at the rear.
