Description
Whitehouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with a later addition forming an L-shaped plan. The north wing is timber framed and plastered, featuring an early 19th-century painted brick facade on the north and east sides, topped with a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a four-window range of three-light casements, one of which has square leaded panes. There are also two false windows on the first floor, and the windows are set beneath cambered arches. The doorway includes a six-panel door with a semi-circular fanlight that has been blocked, and it is topped by a simple flat wooden hood. A brick band runs at first floor level, and there is one internal stack and another in the east gable end. The south wing is constructed of painted brick and has a pantiled roof, also with two storeys and a brick eaves dentil cornice on the east side.
