Description

Lime Tree House is a house with a complex history, likely dating back to the 17th century, although significantly altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. It has an L-shaped plan. The east wing retains a timber frame, now largely covered in red brick, and has a pantiled roof. This wing’s gable displays a date of 1793. The north facade of the east wing has a single window range of sash windows with glazing bars in flush frames, each with a segmental arch above. A brick band runs along the first floor. An internal brick stack is present. A modern, flat-roofed white brick extension has been added to the west side. The west wing is built of red brick with a pantiled roof and is from the early 19th century. Its north facade features a four-window range of modern mullion and transom leaded casement windows, incorporating a false window, each with a segmental arch. A modern boarded door is located centrally, alongside a single-storey lean-to extension to the west.
