Description
Angel Cottage and the shop adjoining the Post Office is a building that was likely constructed in the 16th century and has been altered over time. It features a timber frame with a rendered exterior and plaintile roofs. The structure consists of two adjoining sections, one and a half storeys and two storeys high, with a gable facing the road. The right-hand section is probably two bays wide, while the left-hand section is similar in size. The windows and doors are from the 20th century, with two windows in each section. The right-hand section has a central lantern on the ridge, and there is an external end stack on the left-hand section, which has been partly rebuilt. Access to the left-hand section is limited, revealing exposed flat joists in the left bay and a cambered tie beam. The end bay of the right-hand section has a lower floor level, which was formerly a cellar. There is a blocked original doorway and signs of former windows, but there is no access to the upper floor.
