Description
Walton House is a house dating from the early 19th century, currently used as offices, with later additions at the rear. It is constructed of gault brick and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys tall, featuring a lower two-storey wing with a semicircular end bay to the right. The main range has three bays, with the central bay projecting forward and one bay to the right. On the ground floor, there are two semicircular-headed sash windows set back within similarly shaped arches, with later inserted narrow sashes on each side. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars, including one in the central bay beneath a segmental arch. The central doorway features a six-panel door in a reeded frame, topped by a fanlight with radiating glazing bars, and is flanked by detached Tuscan columns in semicircular recesses. The semicircular porch is supported by two fluted Doric columns and similar pilasters, which hold up an entablature with a triglyph and paterae frieze. The right wing has a ground floor sash window beneath a semicircular arched head and a first-floor sash window, with curving sashes on the end face.
