Description

Arrow Cottage and Arrow House is a house, flat, and outbuildings that have been converted into a cottage. The building dates from the 17th century and early 18th century, with the front range added around 1830. It features colourwashed stucco on brick, and the roof and chimneys are not visible behind the parapet. The structure is in an L-plan and exhibits Greek Revival style.

The entrance includes a six-panelled door with a lattice overlight, framed by a doorcase with fluted Doric pilasters and an entablature that has a triglyph frieze. There is an arch leading to the passage. The front facade has a tripartite window with rusticated voussoirs and 16-pane sash windows, along with a string course. The first and second floors are adorned with four giant fluted Ionic pilasters, and the entablature breaks forward. There are three panels featuring incised Soanian ornament with a Greek key motif. Above the entablature, the parapet has a central moulded panel.

At the rear, the building is constructed of red brick and features twin gables, along with a long 19th-century wing supported by cast iron columns. An attached outbuilding includes some 17th-century timber framing and has been converted into a cottage. The interior has not been inspected.
