Description

Barnyards Cottages, originally one house and now divided into two cottages, date from the early 17th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, with some sections featuring colourwashed brick casing, and it has a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and follows a three-cell plan, originally with a lobby entrance. The front has three windows, which are a mix of two-light and three-light casements, some of which have square leaded panes. There is an internal stack and two boarded doors at the rear. To the right, there is a 19th-century two-storey red brick addition, while to the left, there is a mid-20th-century addition. The interiors have been modernised, and part of the building was under renovation at the time of the survey.
