Description
Sibton Abbey is a house built in the early 19th century, with an earlier core and later additions at the rear. The building features a stucco exterior on brick and has a hipped slated roof. It is two storeys high with attics and presents a symmetrical facade with pilastered quoins. There are three sash windows with glazing bars in flush frames, and French windows in the center. The ground floor windows extend to ground level and include blind boxes, while the first floor windows are adorned with hood moulds.
A single-storey porch with a moulded cornice runs along the facade and returns at the first floor level. Above the porch, there is a stone balustrade. The entrance is highlighted by a Roman Doric portico supported by fluted columns and pilasters, featuring an entablature with triglyphs and a modillion cornice. The door is a 20th-century five-panel design with a rectangular fanlight and panelled reveals. Additionally, there are three semi-circular headed dormers.
