Description

No 2 Old Market is a building dating from around 1840. It has three storeys and features two windows. The structure is made of pale brick and includes a moulded band on the first floor, along with a brick toothed band beneath the wooden eaves soffit. The second floor has casement windows, while the ground and first floors have recessed sash windows with glazing bars. There is a central arched recessed entrance, and the left corner is rounded at Smallgate. This building is part of a group that contributes to the character of the Old Market, which is situated in an important location near the town center. No 2 forms a group with No 36 Smallgate.
