Description
The Old Chapel is a former Methodist chapel, now a house, built in 1799 and converted into a residence in 1839, with late 20th century alterations and an extension. It was constructed by William Samkin using red brick and features pantile hipped roofs.
The exterior has a two-storey front with three windows and a two-storey extension to the left. The central entrance has panelled double-leaf doors that are now sealed, flanked by a two-light casement window on each side. These three openings have keyed semicircular arched heads, which are now blocked. On the first floor, there are two two-light casements that flank a sundial with a gnomon and the inscription "tempus fugit." The building also features a raised band at the first floor level and a dentil eaves cornice.
The interior has not been inspected.
