Description
This gateway, located 20 metres east-north-east of Cockfield Hall Gatehouse, dates from the early to mid-19th century and is designed in the Neo Tudor style. It is constructed of red brick and covered with plain tiles. The gateway features a three-centre moulded entrance arch with a hoodmould above it. At the corners, there are square buttresses topped with moulded brick pinnacles, and the structure has crowstepped gables with moulded brick apex pinnacles. Adjoining the gateway are sections of red brick walling: to the southeast, there is a section approximately 15 metres long, and to the northwest, a section around 10 metres long, which includes a mid-16th century section about 10 metres long that extends at right angles to the gatehouse.
