Description
The Old Rectory is a house with a 17th century core and an early 19th century facade and additions. It has an L-shaped plan, with an additional range behind the south wing. The core is timber framed, featuring some plasterwork at the rear, while the two main wings are made of colourwashed red brick, with plain tiles on the front and pantiles at the rear. The building is two storeys high, with an attic in the east wing.
The main facade faces south and has a five-window arrangement in a 2:1:2 pattern, with the central bay set slightly forward. It features sash windows with glazing bars in flush frames and flat brick arches. The central doorway has an inset six-panel bolection moulded door, a rectangular fanlight, convex pilasters, and a cornice. There is also a paired bracketed wooden eaves cornice. The east wing has a five-window range with inset sashes that include glazing bars and flat brick arches, as well as two catslide dormers with some leaded panes and an internal stack.
