Description
Park Mansions is a pair of villas built around 1860, which were converted into flats in 1982. They are constructed from Gault brick with rendered and whitewashed details, along with artificial stone accents. The building has a slate roof and consists of four storeys plus a basement, arranged in four bays. The design features rusticated quoins, and the elevation becomes less ornate as it rises. The rusticated basement is notable, and the central canted bays extend to the first floor, where they are fitted with 2/2 and 6/6 sash windows. The ground and first floor windows are topped with segmental pediments supported by scrolled consoles, a design element that is also seen on the first-floor side sashes and on the doors at either end of the ground floor. These doors are two-panelled and topped with three-vaned fanlights. The two central bays of the upper two floors feature tripartite sashes with glazing bars set within plaster architraves, while the remaining windows are 6/6 sashes. The building is capped with a double modillion eaves cornice beneath a hipped roof, which has a central ridge stack and side stacks on the east and west slopes.
