Description

Cherry Tree Cottages originally comprised a single house, now divided into two dwellings. The core of the building dates to the mid-16th century, with the left-hand portion possibly being added later. The cottages are timber-framed and plastered, with the facade finished to resemble ashlar, and red brick to the left-hand gable. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The two-storey structure has a four-window front, featuring 20th-century metal casement windows. There are two doorways with a four-panel door and a boarded door. An internal stack and a gable end stack are located on the right-hand side. A single-storey brick lean-to addition extends to the right, incorporating a shop window and a boarded half-door. The right-hand cottage retains good interior timbering, including a crown post roof.
