Description
Nos. 81 and 81A on High Street is a shop and flat that dates from the mid-18th century, although it features some later details. The building is constructed of rendered and colorwashed brick, topped with a roof of black-glazed pantiles. It has two storeys and a dormer attic. The shop front was updated in the late 20th century. On the first floor, there are three sash windows set within plaster surrounds; the window on the right has 6/6 glazing bars, while the other two have 2/2 glazing bars. The building has a bell-based gabled roof with two flat-headed dormers that were rebuilt in the 20th century. There is a rendered internal gable-end stack on the north side. Inside, a small section of 18th-century studwork remains on the ground floor.
