Description
101 High Street is a mid-19th century building constructed from rendered and whitewashed brick, topped with a roof of black-glazed pantiles. It stands three storeys tall and features an original shop front that includes a panelled dado, a 20th-century half-glazed door on either side, and a display window with arched glazing bars. Fluted pilasters frame the doorways and rise on fluted consoles to support the fascia board. The first floor is lit by two horned sash windows with margin glazing and plaster surrounds. The second floor has two windows with moulded surrounds, although these are fitted with late 20th-century top-hung casements. The building has a gabled roof with internal gable-end stacks, one of which has been reduced. At the rear, there is a whitewashed two-storey wing that features 20th-century doors and windows. Inside, the cellar contains chamfered bridging beams.
