Description
Bright's Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse with an L-shaped plan. The north wing dates from the late 16th or early 17th century, while the south wing was built in the early 19th century but includes some 18th-century elements. The north wing features a timber frame with modern roughcast render, closely-spaced exposed timbering with brick nogging on the north gable, and a shingled roof. It has two storeys and an attic, with various casement windows, a boarded door within a lean-to porch, and two internal stacks. The south wing is constructed of red brick and also has a shingled roof. It is two storeys high with a symmetrical facade that includes a three-window range, mainly consisting of four-light casements with segmental arches. The doorway has panelled reveals, reeded pilasters, a reeded frieze, a cornice on brackets, and an inset mid-20th-century half-glazed door. The south wing also features a brick modillion eaves cornice and a hipped roof.
