Description

The serpentine walls to the north of Bramfield Hall are a continuous stretch of walling that forms part of the northern boundary of the grounds. These walls date from the late 18th century, with some parts possibly from the 19th century, and have undergone later repairs. They are constructed of red brick with a brick coping and are built in stretcher bond, one brick thick. The section facing Walpole Road features a mid-19th century gateway, which includes small flint pebbles and white brick dressings, along with a semi-circular headed doorway that contains a 6-panel door. This section of walling has group value in relation to the nearby church.
