Description
Walnut Tree Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with later additions. It features a main range with a cross wing on the right side and a later dairy wing on the left. The structure is timber framed, with the facade covered in red brick and a dentil cornice. The cross wing is partly cement-rendered and partly roughcast-rendered, while the rear is plastered. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The building has two storeys and an attic in the cross wing. It contains various casement windows, mostly from the 20th century, and a lobby entrance with a four-panel door, where the upper two panels are glazed. Inside, there is a notable internal stack with a sawtooth pattern and an inset rectangular panel at the base. The dairy wing is constructed of red brick and features an eaves dentil cornice, along with a 20th-century half-glazed door and an internal stack. The interior has been modernised, but some of the main floor beams still display elaborate stop chamfers.
