Description
Holly Tree Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with a 19th-century brick wing added to the rear. The building is timber framed and plastered, with the facade designed to resemble ashlar. It has a modern plain tile roof and stands two storeys tall; there was previously an attic, but a fire in around 1964 destroyed the original roof structure. The main range consists of two cells and features three windows with two-light and three-light casements that have diamond-pattern metal cames. The entrance is through a lobby with a thatched porch, which has ornamental bargeboards and pointed-arch side lights with hood moulds, leading to a four-panel door. There is an internal stack, and some leaded windows can be found in the rear wing. The first floor displays some exposed timbering and original floorboarding.
