Description
The Hall is a house built in 1846 for a member of the Smyth family, who owned the nearby agricultural drill works, likely James Smyth. The building features white brick, partly colourwashed, with a slated roof. It has two storeys and a basement, presenting a symmetrical three-bay entrance front. This front includes French windows with flat arches and a three-centre arched doorway set within an arched recess, featuring double three-panel doors with panelled reveals and a plain fanlight.
At the first floor level, there is a wide balcony that spans the entire facade. This balcony is made of cast iron with decorative railings and is supported by cast iron brackets, which are likely products of Smyth's iron foundry. The building also has a moulded eaves cornice and a flat parapet.
To the right side, there is a small conservatory, while the garden front also has three bays with similar cast iron balconies for each of the first floor windows. Attached to the left side is a notable mid-19th century conservatory that contains a grotto.
