Description

Lime Tree Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse, with a service cell added in the 17th century. It is timber framed and has brick casing to the facade and right-hand gable, roughcast render to the left-hand gable, and plaster to the rear. The roof is pantiled. The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic, originally arranged with a three-cell plan. Most of the windows are mid-20th century casements, with two small-pane sash windows with segmental arches either side of the lobby entrance, which features a boarded door and an open porch. There are two flat-roofed dormers at first-floor level. Inside, the right-hand cell has good exposed framing at first-floor level and heavy, unchamfered first-floor joisting. There is an original newel staircase leading to the attic, and some original doors on the first floor, now painted. An internal stack is also present.
