Description

Farmhouse. Dating from the early 17th century, it was altered in the mid 19th century and renovated around 1983. The original timber frame is largely concealed behind a mid 19th century red brick facade, and the roof is covered in pantiles. The house has two storeys and an attic, originally with a three-cell plan. There are three windows, which are small-pane casements in the mid 20th century, set within slightly cambered brick arches. A good mid 19th century doorway features angled pilasters with an inset lozenge within the plinth, an entablature, and a flat hood, leading to a six-panel door and a narrow rectangular fanlight. Inside, there is a good internal stack with an original base incorporating two inset lozenge panels and moulded brickwork above; the upper part is of a sawtooth pattern, though it has been rebuilt. An external stack is located on the left-hand gable end.
