Description
This building is a tithe barn located 40 meters northeast of Blyford Hall, likely dating from the 17th century, with a later addition at the north end. It is timber framed, primarily covered in weatherboarding, but also features some plasterwork. The roof is made of corrugated iron sheeting. The barn is an impressive structure, measuring nearly 40 meters in total length. The original part of the barn consists of 10 bays, with gabled entrance porches on the east side located in the third and eighth bays. Some of the trusses include intermediate posts, with side ties connecting to the main wall posts, which may relate to original internal partitioning. The wall framing contains a middle rail but has undergone significant alterations. The butt purlin roof has been partly rebuilt, with the southern half retaining more of its original features, including arched wind-bracing. The two northernmost bays, which are floored over, are likely from the 19th century. At the time of the survey, the southern end of the barn was only partially accessible.
