Description

Glevering Bridge is a bridge over the River Deben, dated 1777 on the keystone of the main arch. It is constructed of red brick, laid in English bond, with stone coping and some later cast iron reinforcing ties. The bridge features a single main arch flanked by smaller arches on either side, with brick piers at both ends and in the center of the parapet, which were probably originally topped with ornamental finials. Half of the bridge is located in Hacheston parish.
